Campaign Story
Some of you may or may not know Kylie Wood. She is a senior student at Penguin Budo and an integral part of the dojo, helping with classes and providing our much loved grading cupcakes 🙂
On Boxing Day 2018 Kylie was involved in a tragic car accident which resulted in a serious neck injury. She has been transported to a hospital in Melbourne and undergone surgery to avoid permanent disability. Unfortunately her injury has resulted in her inability to be able to continue her Aikido journey with us or umpire football.
The rehabilitation will be long and there will be a period of at least 8 weeks where Kylie will not be able to work or drive. After this there will be ongoing rehab and expenses. With this reality in mind, I would like to offer Kylie the same kindness and compassion she has extended to my family and to all students of Penguin Budo. I request that everyone consider a donation big or small towards Kylie’s immediate recovery period. This money will be given directly to Kylie and her family to cover/help with food, bills and any other expenses over this difficult time.  I can think of nothing better than having a full fridge and cupboard awaiting Kylie when she returns from hospital, and if we can help out with some immediate bills even better.
Lets all join together and help Kylie and her family during this time in the same spirit she has been there for all of us.
I have set up a secure crowd funding platform on the penguinbudo.com website that is SSL secured, to ensure all of the donated money gets to Kylie. Payments can be made via credit card, paypal or direct deposit.
I have set the target at $2000.00 however any donation is welcome.
If you have any problems donating or require any further information please contact me –Â brad@penguinbudo.com
Yours in budo.

We achieved the goal
Hi All,
The support has been overwhelming and as of this morning we reached our target of $2000.00 (cleared funds). We still have a few dollars to clear.
If you still wish to donate I have kept the donation page open until the 28th of February, as there is still heaps to do.
To date Kylie has received $1740.00, which has helped with the out of pocket expenses in Melbourne and allowed her partner to stay with her while she under goes surgery and treatment.
The staff at Kylies workplace (Baptcare) where she works as an Occupational Therapist are arranging a walk to raise some more money. I’ll get the information out to everyone as soon as it is finalised.
Keep sending the good vibes and support, it is Keeping Kylie in high spirits.
Thankyou,
Brad Palmer
